Project Description:
This project consisted of retrofitting 2820 lineal feet of existing concrete wharf to support larger container ships and increased container loads, with embankment strengthening to allow for greater dredging depth of the Berth. Additionally, the existing fender system was removed and upgraded. Mechanical systems were upgraded or replaced throughout.

Project Description:
This project consisted of partial replacement and structural rehabilitation of the existing 90 year old Piers that serve as the foundation for several commercial waterfront buildings. In addition, a concrete portwalk was constructed as a walkway along the waterside face of the buildings looking out over San Francisco Bay.

This project entailed the sequenced installation of 1235 feet of new driven steel pile and timber fender

As marine subcontractor to the FCI/Cleveland Bridge JV, Vortex performed major marine foundation work and provided marine support for construction of the new 3,465 foot long, 3-span suspension bridge. The project won numerous awards and received international recognition, becoming North America’s first suspension bridge of its kind to be built in 35 years, as well as the first suspension bridge to be built in the U.S. with concrete towers.
